Hundreds test their wits at Big Day Out Festival
Hundreds of young families honed their problem-solving skills with fun games and activities from the Problem-Solving Initiative at the St Patrick’s Festival Big Day Out at Merrion Square, Dublin on Sunday, 19th March 2017. The Problem-Solving Initiative gave visitors to the Science Foundation Ireland ‘Science Zone’ the opportunity to make cipher wheels, which enabled them to decode and create their own secret spy codes. They also tested their minds with a variety of exciting logic games and mind-bending challenges. The Problem-Solving Initiative exhibit was coordinated and manned by volunteers from the ADAPT Centre for Digital Content Technology.
The Problem-Solving Initiative aims to foster the next generation of problem solvers for Ireland and create awareness of the relevance of problem-solving skills to careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). ADAPT will host its own Problem-Solving Festival on Saturday, 5th August 2017 at Dublin Castle.
