Registration for the 2018 season of the All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) is now open! The Olympiad – known as “The Problem-Solvers’ Challenge” – seeks to find Irelands’ top young problem solver. Secondary school students are challenged to use logic and lateral thinking to decode complex puzzles in unfamiliar languages. Entry is free. Want to test your mind? Sign up at www.adaptcentre.ie/ailo
More than 16,000 students have participated in AILO since its launch in 2009. It aims to encourage teens to sharpen their problem-solving skills and to consider the exciting careers at the intersection of computing, linguistics and language. More than 90% of participants report that the contest has helped them hone their problem-solving skills.
The top 4 performers in this year’s Olympiad will win the opportunity to represent Ireland at the International Linguistics Olympiad in Prague, Czech Republic in July 2018.
